UPA Chairman Hosts Presidential Advisor to Review Executive Status of National Strategic Warehousing Project

New Administrative Capital, 8-10-2025 – In line with the directives of His Excellency the President to establish a fully integrated national system of strategic warehouses for medical products and devices, Dr. Hisham Stait, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and the Management of Medical Technology (UPA), hosted Professor Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention.
The high-level visit took place at the site of the Strategic Warehouse in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) to monitor the executive status of the project, which is recognized as a major national initiative aimed at enhancing drug security and developing health infrastructure.
During the field visit, Dr. Hisham Stait underscored the critical importance of the project in strengthening the State’s capacity to manage the pharmaceutical supply chain and medical sector requirements according to the latest global practices. He stated that the project directly supports the sustainability of healthcare services for citizens and aligns with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.
Dr. Stait presented the executive status of the strategic warehouses, confirming the progress achieved in cooperation with the contractor, Orascom-Witz, and the project consultant, the Military Technical College. He confirmed the operational launch timeline for the first phase of the project, which includes the opening and operation of the Main Warehouse in the New Administrative Capital by February 2026.
For his part, Professor Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El Din highlighted the strategic significance of the project, calling it a realization of the President’s ambitious vision to enhance Egyptian national security by providing globally-compliant strategic storage for medical products and devices.
He praised the substantial efforts made to execute the project on schedule, emphasizing its necessity in boosting the State’s capacity to intervene effectively during pandemics and epidemics. Furthermore, Dr. Tag El Din noted the project’s vital role in attracting international companies and organizations, leveraging the advanced logistical services the facilities will provide to the region.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Strategic Warehousing Company for Medical Products and Devices, along with delegates from Orascom-Witz and the Engineering Consulting Office of the Military Technical College, ensuring comprehensive oversight of the project’s progression.
