Presidential Advisor and UPA Chairman Review Progress of the National Strategic Warehouses Project in the New Administrative Capital

In implementation of the directives of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to establish an integrated national system of strategic warehouses for medical products and equipment — one of Egypt’s flagship national projects aimed at enhancing pharmaceutical security and strengthening health infrastructureDr. Hesham Stait, Chairman of the Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority (UPA), received Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning, at the strategic warehouse site in the New Administrative Capital.

 

The visit aimed to review the execution status and on-ground progress of the project, which represents a key pillar in Egypt’s efforts to modernize its medical supply chain and ensure the sustainability of healthcare services for citizens.

During the field tour, Dr. Stait presented an overview of the project’s objectives — emphasizing its role in enhancing the State’s capacity to manage pharmaceutical and medical supply chains according to international best practices, and its alignment with Egypt Vision 2030. He also outlined the construction progress being implemented in cooperation with Orascom-WATTS (the project contractor) and the Military Technical College (project consultant), confirming that the first phase — including the main warehouse in the New Administrative Capital — is scheduled for inauguration in February 2026.

 

Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed commended the steady progress and high implementation standards, highlighting the project’s importance in strengthening Egypt’s national medical logistics network and establishing a logistics hub capable of attracting global companies and expanding access to Arab and African markets.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Strategic Warehouses Company for Medical Products and Equipment, Orascom-WATTS, and the Military Technical College’s Engineering Consultancy Office.
